Mad Universe Wins Emmy

In June 2015, Chris Mortensen received a L.A. area Emmy Award for writing and directing a one hour special for ABCTV celebrating Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The special was produced by Hollywood-based Yu & Company. Executive producers Garson Yu and Carol Wong also received Emmys.

“The Moneychangers” Begins Pre-Production

April 2014 marks the start of our newest project: The Moneychangers, a feature-length documentary film that for the first time addresses and examines the viability, legitimacy and fairness of our current financial system. The film will include interviews with economic historians, leading financiers, philosophers, politicians, religious leaders, entrepreneurs and the man-on-the-street to provide a provocative, informative and controversial examination of this highly charged, largely misunderstood topic.

Mad Goes West for College America

Winter/Spring 2014 – Assigned to produce a package of TV spots and a motivational film for College America Services, the Mad crew toured the American West including stops in California, Utah, Wyoming, Colorado and Arizona. The spots will begin airing later this spring.

Holiday Season TV Special For Children’s Hospital Los Angeles

In January 2014, “Imagine”, a one-hour special celebrating Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, hosted by Gray’s Anatomy star Jessica Capshaw and produced, written and directed by Chris Mortensen aired on ABC7.

Fabled R&B group ‘The Manhattans’ No Longer ‘Unsung’

Summer, 2013 saw Chris Mortensen travel to Jersey City, Manhattan, Atlanta and Palm Springs to write and produce an hour-long episode of TV-one’s award-winning Unsung series profiling one of R&B’s most popular and enduring acts – The Manhattans. The program aired early this year (2014).
